A man accused of murdering a pizza delivery driver at a Lorain motel apparently apologized for it on his jail cell’s wall, the Chronicle-Telegram reported.

Benjamin Davis was charged with aggravated murder following the Dec. 1 shooting death of Happy’s Pizza delivery guy Robert Caudill, who delivered pizza to him at the Lake Motel in Lorain.

A former cellmate of Davis, who’s an alleged victim of an attack by Davis earlier this month, penned a witness statement that said Davis wrote “Sorry Robert It was my bad RIP” in pencil, and also apologized to Happy’s Pizza, the Chronicle-Telegram reported.

The accused murder’s defense attorney, who can’t be pleased with the revelation, told the newspaper it wasn’t a “confession” but simply an apology for his role in the death: “It was an expression of remorse, an apology, that’s how I would take it.”
