Last summer, Scene told the twisted tale of 18-year-old Sabrina Zunich who brutally killed her foster mother Lisa Knoefel by stabbing her 178 times in front of her two young daughters. Zunich was sentenced to life in prison, as was Knoefel’s huband after it was revealed that he’d had a sexual affair with the teen and coerced her to kill his wife for her life insurance money.

The tale is grisly, tragic, and complicated at best, containing all the elements of a damn good crime show, which is probably why the folks at Dateline have put together a TV special on the murder.

Here’s a preview for tonight’s show, which airs on NBC at 10 p.m.
