If a televised-bowling game show can score anywhere, it can score in Cleveland. And so it shall be: Star Frame Bowling Challenge is set to debut on WUAB-TV Channel 43 on Saturday, December 4. First frame is at 4:30 p.m.
The show marks a return of sorts for displaced broadcasters Paul Rado and Marty “Big Daddy” Allen, formerly of The Mike Trivisonno Show on WTAM radio. Joining them is Chuck Galeti, the former sports anchor who now hosts Chuck’s Last Call on SportsTime Ohio. “I see this as the next step in our careers,” says Rado. “People who have known us for years will let us entertain them in a whole new way.”
Star Frame pits Clevelanders against each other in bowling skills competitions. Contestants will roll one ball each, and only strikes count. If five contestants in a row can roll strikes, they win $100 each.
Four episodes have already been taped at venerable Yorktown Lanes in Parma, with more slated for Sunday, November 28. And you’re all invited.
“There are no other TV shows in Cleveland where a viewer can make plans to watch the action being taped live,” says Rado. “There is no cover charge, and the early returns said it was a lot of fun.” — D.X. Ferris

wow, i just watched that Star Frame Bowling. It’s a mess of a show. Hard to follow. Thank God
for Galeti at the very least. He tries to keep it someway grounded. But it’s an epic fail. Does anybody on that crew even know how to put together a video show?? Is big Paul Rado trying to look retarded? If so, he is succeeding big time. Pathetic. Those faces and gesturing, really really bad TV unless you’re like a 12 year old. This is just horrid low budget local TV looking to just make a buck off this town’s ancient love of bowling. And it’s just that ” old worn out idea.” I think bringing back the Gene Carroll Show would have been fresher. The show goes into the gutter from the first frame. D for dumb.
