Now with a new station

  • Now with a new station

There’s a new radio station in town today. 106.5 The Lake launched this morning, promising Clevelanders a radio station that’s “unlike unlike any other Cleveland radio station.”

The Lake is an “Adult Hits” station, meaning that you’ll hear lots of songs from the ’80s, even though they promise to hit “four decades” from a “variety of music and styles.”

Its playlist consists of everything from Eric Clapton and INXS to U2 and Prince. You know, stuff that a half-dozen other local stations play every single day.

It’s a Clear Channel station, so don’t expect too much of a local presence. But you can expect plenty of music that may or may not be playing on another station at the very same time. —Michael Gallucci

  1. How about a station play only songs from new albums that were released within the last 6 months? It would force a fresh rotation of songs and if someone wants to hear a song (after the 6months have passed) from that album they can download it or listen to another station in hopes of hearing it. We need something more than just the poor-signal college stations to provide us with the new music of 2011 and beyond.

  2. This new station sounds just like the mix 106.5 that they got rid of. Thank God Maxwell is back over at wncx.
