In a letter last week from Spectra Energy Corp., the Houston-based mega corporation behind the pipeline, residents were informed that they had two options: allow surveyors on their property or lawyer up.
The 36-inch-diameter NEXUS Pipeline, in current plans, will travel through 11 Ohio counties and then up through Michigan before terminating at an energy hub in Ontario.
A representative from Grafton told the CT that Spectra surveyors would be accompanied by law enforcement deputies to “keep the peace,” during surveys which are scheduled (via Spectra) for this weekend and next week.
The city of Grafton doesn’t know where surveyors will be because Spectra, surprise surprise, “hasn’t been forthcoming with project details or maps.”
The Coalition to Reroute NEXUS (CORN) seems poised to file a class-action lawsuit, but for now the coalition’s lawyer is advising property owners to continue denying surveyors access, as is their legal right, he says.

What the hell are Grafton law enforcement doing, shoving landowners around for this unneeded, unwanted and unsafe pipeline?
If they won’t leave and get aggressive, call the Troopers or the FBI. This seems like corruption to me.
