This afternoon, the official arm of Occupy Cleveland sent along a statement on the botched bombing carried out by a crew associated with the movement. The statement was signed by Messrs Jacob Wagner and Peter Schanz.

While the group arrested Monday evening by the FBI were associated with Occupy Cleveland they were in no way representing or acting on behalf of Occupy Cleveland or the event that was planned for later today at the GE Lighting building. The May Day Event that was sponsored by Occupy Cleveland, the North Shore AFL-CIO, Cleveland Jobs with Justice, Fight for a Fair Economy and SEIU Local 1 has been cancelled because of the alleged actions of the autonomous group arrested last night. Occupy Cleveland has had affirmed principles of non-violence since its inception on October 6, 2011.

  1. Well Occupy doesn’t seem to be getting anything accomplished so these 5 retards are going to get tossed under the bus and discredit the movement…Granted this is what our government does but if your going to protest…
    Do it right…
there are SO many outlets to stir up a fuss theses days that camping out in a city square is so 1970’s…

  2. This is a day in the national news that has all kinds of wild stories. A 78 year old lady now says that there were more than one gunman in the RFK assasination of 1968 in LA…and that she is now coming out because the FBI made her change her story back then.
Also, there was some white powder sent to financial institutions with the presumption that it was from the OWS movement….
And then we have our very own Rt. 82 bridge story which pretty much has the right wing media blaming OWS and the Cleveland branch. Understand that many of us are involved with this movement and we are 100% committed to peaceful demonstration and protest…but then so was the civil rights movement and MLK and The Freedom Riders and almost the entire movement was only violent from the other end of the fence.
