  1. It was not only Baker Mayfield……John Dorsey had to trade Carlos Hyde to finally get Nick Chubb into the starting lineup. It would not be surprising if Hue Jackson had a handshake deal with Marvin Lewis to immediately rejoin the Bengals if he failed in Cleveland. At no time did Jackson show a sense of urgency or leadership with the Browns — he acted like a bored substitute teacher allowing the classes to have free periods throughout the day.

  2. University of Akron Athletics Director Larry Williams would be wise to contact Mike Jacobs concerning the head coaching vacancy. Going to the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision with the Zips from a nationally-ranked NCAA Division II program – that is currently in the national championship tournament semi-finals – will not be a huge leap.
