An actor who’s appeared in nearly 20 films as well as on network television, Peter Lawson Jones has an impressive resume. Karamu Performing Arts Theatre has produced his drama, The Family Line, and Ensemble Theatre put on his latest play, The Bloodless Jungle.

From February 2002 through December 2010, Jones served as a member of the Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners and was president of the board for three of those years. Jones, who served in the Ohio House of Representatives and was the Vice Mayor and a Councilman for the Shaker Heights, has received over 50 awards and honors for his governmental, civic and political work.

Earlier this week, Shaker Arts Council announced that Jones will star as Malcolm X in Conversations in Courage: A Theatrical Performance of the Meeting. Greg White will portray Martin Luther King, Jr., and the performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Heights Christian Church in Shaker Heights.

Tickets are $15 for students and $25 for adults. SHAC members receive a $5 discount.
