Those beautiful sculptures on the Hope Memorial Bridge didn’t just appear by magic one day. Real men — manly men if the picture below has anything to say about it — built them. We hope the minute this was snapped, they all broke out into song and dance. Just how our brains work.

  1. Now THIS is a photo taken “When Cleveland was…C L E V E L A N D”…circa 1930…and still made stuff for the WHOLE WORLD.

    Italians…master stonecarvers…still are. Example: the folks who do Northeast Ohio’s cemetery monuments… people like the Milanos and their ilk.

    And there’s still a life-sized granite pick-up truck at the southwest corner of Brookpark Road and West 150th. Check it out. Only in Cleveland…

  2. These guys had some crazy ass talent. I admire those statues and the talent that made them every time I drive past.
