Known for presenting works that “challenge the notions of what modern dance can look like,” Pilobolus Dance Theater creates “awe-inducing shapes that push the imagination to the extreme.”

Part of DANCECleveland’s American Dance Festival (ADF), tonight’s show at the State Theatre includes the fan favorite, “Shadowland.” If the dance company’s name rings a bell, perhaps it’s because it has performed in a variety of music videos, along with doing commercials for the likes of Mobil, Ford and Toyota.

It has also appeared on the 79th Annual Academy Awards, Oprah Winfrey Show and the Conan O’Brien show. Tonight’s performance begins at 7:30.

Becoming a festival passholder, you’ll  get the best seats at the best price. The pass allows you to see Pilobolus Shadowland, Raphael Xavier (Aug. 2) and Brian Brooks + Dancers (Aug. 5). In addition, as a festival pass holder, you will also receive access to the festival program and information about food and drink discounts throughout Playhouse Square. You’ll also be notified of special events before and after each performance. Passes range from $64 to $119.
