Police Checkpoint Set for W. 117th and Clifton Tonight

The border of Cleveland and Lakewood will be flashing the ol' reds and blues this evening. Take heed, and don't be a moron.

A DUI checkpoint will be set up at the corner of West 117th and Clifton from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. tonight. The Cleveland Division of Police will be overseeing it.

Relatedly, here's the Ohio State Highway Patrol's standing sage wisdom: "If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don't let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired."

This might also be a good time to tease our interview with a well-known and beloved Cleveland cab driver, who you can read about in next week's issue of Scene. He saves people's lives nightly, and you might do well to call a driver tonight, as well.

Be safe, please.
