Pride in the CLE and Cleveland Pride Inc, have chosen to come together for one unified celebration this year, the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland announced today.
The Pride in the CLE event, as Cleveland’s singular Pride event will be known now, runs May 31 through June 3, with the big downtown celebration and parade hitting June 2.
When Cleveland Pride Inc. chose to cancel its festivities back in 2016, Pride in the CLE stepped in. Last year, however, both events took place weeks apart from one another, leading to confusion with the public.
Phyllis Harris, Executive Director of The Center, explained in a statement that both events are stronger together.
“We are bringing our entire community together in one place on one day to celebrate how far we’ve come and look to the future together,” Harris said.
