Purell, the sanitizing supergiant, dirtied its hands last night at the Super Bowl after serving up a muddied jab at the Browns.

Purell higher ups have since deleted the offending tweet and have issued an apology, both on Twitter and on Cleveland.com.
#Browns fans @Purell apologize for the insensitive post. We are investigating the source and we will take appropriate action.

What if the tweet came from the CEO??
As a lifelong Browns fan, I’ve gotta say, we have to have a thicker skin.
I love the Browns, I always will, but we’ve gotta’ admit they’re not at their best lately. So we should take the snark & jabs with a smile on our faces, and when it’s our time in the sun, we will have the last laugh.
Getting all upset just makes us look like a bunch of whiners.
Who the heck follows Purell on Twitter?!? Lol
Whether we play bad or not is not the point. I will not spend my hard earned money on a company that has no respect for me. I love the Browns and though I do not expect Purell to kiss my ass for my money I do expect them to respect the fact that I am a Browns fan
Really everybody, lighten up. Tell me the writer at Purell wasn’t the only person watching the Supe rBowl and thinking that the Broncos looked pitiful like the Browns. I sure did! And the Purell people just said it better. Find something real to be mad about, not this thoughtless comment
i thought the exact same thing when the hike from center went over Manning’s head on the first play from scrimmage. win some games browns and people wont say things like this
Grow up, people! This is a company located in Akron, so I think that qualifies them to have the same experience being Browns fans, as the rest of us! NEO has had to endure the losing seasons of the Browns for DECADES!!!! If we can post a jab at the Browns, because we’ve lived through ALL the heartache as fans….then so should they!!!! End of story!
Dumb move on the part of Purell. When you’re a company, you can’t say things like that. What’s next, poking fun at minorities or women, then telling them they need to just get thicker skin?
