Robert Bonness, 53, is a retired Cleveland cop with 23 years on the job. He now finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
Bill Mason’s office says that Bonness replied to a post on Craigslist in July involving a father and a daughter. Little did Bonness know, the poster was really an ICAC detective.
Bonness believed he was arranging to meet the 12-year-old daughter for sex.

Those ads are not serendipitiously posted under buying a used car — they are posted specifically under a sexually natured category. So he was trolling to begin with.
You can JUSTIFY anyone over the age of 18 that would even THINK about meeting a person who is 12?? Sounds sick and a perverted to me….the ad was to meet for sex, asking the girl to wear something innocent…
Did he think he was he going to buy girl scout cookies??? Being a cop he should have smelled a set-up at best…and at the very least if you’re gonna do that kind of stuff… do it with someone OF AGE.. what a pig.
Bonness is a complete perv and has been ever since I’ve known him. He is seriously mentally ill and this is probably not his first time doing this. He is a sexual deviant who had no business being on the police department. I’m glad he finally got caught.
