Via the PD, a car trying to make a left turn onto Euclid Avenue from East Fourth Street pulled in front of an RTA HealthLine bus this morning, causing a collision that sent eight people to local hospitals.

The bus was driving west on Euclid Avenue at 10:30 a.m. when it collided with the car, according to RTA spokeswoman Mary Shaffer. She didn’t know the severity of the injuries, but evidently the EMS workers on the scene told Channel 5 folks that nothing was serious.

Euclid Avenue is now clear and was only closed for about an hour after the collision.

  1. Not a scratch on the bus but 8 people were hurt. Hmmm. Real standards of society I am sure.

  2. I’m sure it was the car’s fault, yet the people that were injured will still try and sue the RTA. Why work hard when you can get millions trying to sue some company?

  3. To the person who seems to think the 8 people injured somehow were indicative of substandard for society; are you aware of how many professionals and college students depend upon public transportation daily? And have you ever actually ridden the health line or RTA? There are no seat belts, and is usually crowded enough to force standing room. If you are standing when a a vehicle hits another at even 25mph, you go flying, which means even though the solid bus might not be dented, your head surely will be as it slams into poles or seats nearby you. I’m frankly surprised only 8 people were injured in the accident.
