In light of a recent attack on an unarmed, unsuspecting teen, Cleveland’s Public Square is getting a security boost.

Ladies and gents meandering around the square on their lunch hour will have to weave through not one, not two, but three types of officials.

Cleveland police, RTA police, and school district officers will be a city center mainstay until the after-school shenanigans start simmering down.

Folks may also notice an increase in pony patrol and officers with dogs in the downtown.

So, behave yourselves out there, Cleveland, and do watch where you step in the upcoming weeks.

  1. Cleveland also needs to get some zookeepers to tame the worthless animals who congregate in public square.

  2. Lots of problems on the Square during Free Ride Day on the RTA…co-inky-dink? Ya think?

I remember riding the Shaker Rapid the last time they let riders travel free, sometime in the mid-Nineties. Worst ride of my life. It was a zoo on rails. But at least they didn’t beat anybody up. Things are different now.

If the Square is going to continue to function as the hub of a major city…do whatever it takes.

    By any means necessary.

  3. Its interesting they use a photo from St. Patrick’s day. Ive seen too many attacks by mobs of underage kids on those days, just running around punching people at random.

  4. They should have done something about public square a long time and maybe by now it would be a great place to be. They should move those bus stops to somewhere outside of downtown!! And keep the police there around the clock. Hell, keep police throughout downtown all day every day. The city should wait until something happens before they do something. Public square has been a bad place for many years now. As for all those kids congregating and fighting, arrest them and make their parents come get them. If they keep acting up, keep arresting them and have their parents locked up if it’s too many times. It’s ridiculous that the city cannot come up with better plans to make the city, all areas of the city, a better place to live. The city “leaders” can’t figure out how to run the city!!
