Sergio’s, a University Circle staple for almost 20 years, and Sarava, a popular Shaker Square restaurant since 1995, have both unexpectedly closed. While chef, owner and namesake Sergio Abramof passed away last summer, both restaurants appeared to be persevering despite the blow.

Attempts to reach staffers have so far been unsuccessful.

For 25 years, Douglas Trattner has worked as a full-time freelance writer, editor and author. His work as co-author on Michael Symon's cookbooks have earned him four New York Times Best-Selling Author honors, while his longstanding role as Scene dining editor has garnered awards of its own.
