Sources tell Scene that Aisha Fraser Mason, the ex-wife of former county common pleas judge and current city of Cleveland employee Lance Mason, was found dead today after a domestic incident involving Mason.

He’d previously been convicted of and imprisoned on domestic violence charges after he viciously beat her in 2014 in front of their children. She filed for divorce two days later and needed reconstructive facial surgery. Cops found 2,500 rounds of ammunition and semi-automatic weapons in Mason’s home after he was arrested for that assault.

Mayor Frank Jackson last year hired Mason despite all that. Jackson insisted Mason was simply the best qualified applicant.

We’ll update you with more information as we get it.

  1. What does having semi-automatic weapons and 2500 rounds of ammunition have to do with the article? It is the same as saying he has 8 baseballs and 4 baseball bats. Were the guns used in the killing? Were all 2500 rounds scattered on the floor? If they were secured away and not fired, then your calling it out is irrelevant.

  2. Cleary he was not the most qualified applicant, since generally you like to hire people that dont kill other people or beat them so severely they need facial reconstruction surgery.

  3. The Jackson Clan has got to go. He has been riding on the national economic wave, while destroying our economic security as a City. Goodbye Continental, goodbye city contracts to local companies, goodbye quality sports teams and hello high retail and property taxes.
