We triple dog dare you to make your Christmas a bit more magical this year by placing a bid on a two-night stay in the original A Christmas Story house over the holidays (plus a one night stay at Cleveland’s Renaissance Hotel).
Beginning Dec. 1, movie fans across the nation will place their bids in hopes of winning a trip for four to the famous Cleveland residence from Dec. 23 – 26, where they’ll get the chance to re-enact their favorite movie moments, such as checking the mail for Decoder pins, opening presents in the Parker family living room, and starting a Christmas Day BB-gun fight.
So how much can one expect to ante-up for such such experience? A pretty penny, let’s just say.
“[The final price] has ranged between $3,000 and $5,000 in the past,” Steve Siedlecki, A Christmas Story’s executive director told Scene last year. It all depends on who ends up bidding, and how much they are willing to spend.
Still, it’s a once in a lifetime experience, and one folks can feel good about since proceeds from the auction benefit the Christmas Story House Foundation.
Head over to the A Christmas Story website for additional auction details.

I’m sure this is exactly the kind of things that certain people would want to do, but personally I think I’d rather stay home and spend that 3-5,000 on gifts. Or, better yet, save almost all of that 3-5 thousand, and stay at home. But that’s just me.
Yep, just you.
