In honor of the anniversary, Literary Cleveland is presenting "Words On Fire: A Remembrance of the Cuyahoga River Fire, 1969," a staged reading of 20 plays, poems, short stories and essays from writers across Northeast Ohio.
Selecting from a pool of more than 100 applicants, the writings, according to a recent press release, "explore various topics including climate change, Hurricane Harvey, humanity’s relationship with nature, California wildfires, the fate of native animals and plants and some very personal reflections."
The one-hour event runs March 16 and 17 at Cleveland State University’s Student Center Ballroom (2121 Euclid Ave.), beginning at 7 p.m. each evening.
The event is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10. All attendees are asked to register here.
