The Royal Babes Ball, a benefit celebration for local women’s shelters in Cleveland, will spread good feelings and hopefully collect some much-needed cash on Sunday at Mahall’s. There’s a $5 suggested donation at the door, though they also provide a list of items to donate as well, including everyday necessities such as: bed sheets, pillows, washcloths, socks, feminine products, diapers, wipes, etc. This year the funds are going to Laura’s Home, a Cleveland shelter that provides everything from bus passes to beds and baby wipes.

They’ll host bands all night, featuring six different performances that range from DJs like Becca Nicole to bands such as Half An Animal, Venus Flytraps, and Sister Smirk! There’s also $1 raffle tickets at the door for free entrance into the 6th annual International Burlesque Festival hosted by Ohio Burlesque. Plus — hello! — it’s Mahall’s, so there’s also bowling.

The theme is Black, White, and Glam, so dress for a party. Though, of course, all colors are allowed and encouraged.

For further information, and to let all your friends know where the party’s at, check out the Facebook event page.

  1. Unfortunately, there will be a number of known sexual predators attending, including Rikki Schulte, the notorious date raper. As this is actually a birthday party for the promoter, and not really a benefit show, the promoter feels no obligation to ensure this is a safe space, especially for victims of sexual assault. Those who support Womans’ Shelters would be better donating directly to the charities, and not risk their safety at an event where part of the proceeds will literally go to sexual predators.
