According to Ultimate Classic Rock, he claimed “there was no human being alive who didn’t think he should receive the honor.”
As a human being who is very much alive, I will personally call his claim bullshit.
Nugent has been eligible for inductions since 2000 but said last year that “political correctness” was the reason for the continued snub, which I’ll also call bullshit on because the confederate flag clad Lynyrd Skynrd was inducted in 2006. Ol’ Uncle Ted also thinks that his membership in the NRA is responsible for his “snub,” and claimed in 2011 that his exclusion is an “embarrassing denial of historical and current truth and evidence.”
Back at it again, Nugent recently spoke in an interview with My Global Mind, making some pretty bold and self-congratulatory claims about not being considered for induction, yet again:
“Abandon egos, bragging and Ted Nugent speaking on behalf of Ted Nugent – is it or is it not vulgar, dishonest, and obscene that Grandmaster Flash, Patti Smith and ABBA are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but Ted fucking Nugent isn’t? Is that the most outrageous and disgusting lie you have ever seen?”First things first, Ted Nugent can take several seats trying to come for Grandmaster Flash, Patti Smith and ABBA. There are countless artists who to this day can cite those acts as inspirations but with the exception of maybe Kid Rock, no one making music today that’s worth their salt aspires to be like Ted Nugent.
He went on to refer to his lack of consideration as “sacrilege” and “disrespectful and cruel” to Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard and all of the other founding fathers in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Maybe it’s just me, but maybe his being pro-politics that discount the communities where artists like Chuck Berry grew up is more disrespectful and cruel than Ted Nugent not being inducted into the Rock Hall.
He continued:
“Would like you to find a human being…and believe them when they say Ted Nugent should not be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? I would love to witness that exchange. You would see a person almost melt with guilt because you know they are lying. At the end of the day, it’s not about me – it’s about the music. James Hetfield said it best when Metallica was inducted: ‘Ted Nugent not being in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. Ted Nugent is rock and roll’.”
The levels of pure ego-inflation is definitely of a “Trump” caliber, and for someone who seems to care so much about being inducted, he sure is trying to act like he’s better than the Rock Hall.
Two-time Rock Hall inductee, David Crosby, (of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash) called out Nugent’s whining, saying that he is “not good enough” to receive the honor.
When someone who has contributed to five of Rolling Stone’s 500 ‘Greatest Albums of All Time,’ says you’re not good enough … you’re probably not good enough.
The nominees for the 2019 class are Def Leppard, Devo, Janet Jackson, John Prine, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, MC5, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Roxy Music, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Stevie Nicks, the Cure, the Zombies and Todd Rundgren, all musical acts that have contributed more to rock and roll than the guy who was accused by his bandmates of taking sole writing credits on songs as a way to not pay his band royalties.
Sorry, Uncle Ted. The Rock & Roll Hall is an honor, not your personal safe space.

Why waste so much space and so many keystrokes on this clown, when one word…asshole…would be sufficient? The best thing to do to this POS is ignore him. That drives him nuts. If there were a Hall of Shame…not just for rock and roll but for ANYTHING shameful, period…Ted would be a charter member.

A well known outspoken racist bigot Nugent has made numerous blatantly racist remarks in the press. More than enough to prove without a doubt his bigotry and racism. These include the reference to president Obama as a “sub-human mongrel.”
Add to that the fact that he brags how he crapped in his own pants for a week before his induction physical to avoid service to our country in Vietnam and now advocates for wars he is too much of a coward to fight. Typical chicken hawk.
In the late 1960s, prior to his first marriage, Nugent fathered two babies out of wedlock with different teenage girls. A baby boy, and a baby girl, which he dumped into adoption programs to dispose of them. Nugent never attempted to make any further contact with his babies. Uncle Teddy has bragged repeatedly about sexual relationships with underage minors even authored a song called “Jailbait” proudly detailing his pedophilia and molesting behavior with 13 year old girls.
Ted was in his 30s when he began a sexual relationship with seventeen-year-old girl in Hawaii. Due to the fact that could not legally marry or cohabitate with the minor Ted scammed a way to make himself her legal guardian, an arrangement that Rolling Stone magazine ranked as one of the “Sleaziest Moments in Rock History.”
Ted Nugent took a guilty plea to poaching black bear in a national park in Alaska he illegally killed with a high powered sniper rifle. Nugent made the admission of guilt while begging for a plea agreement with federal prosecutors that was filed in U.S. District Court.
Chicken hawk, draft dodger, statutory rapist, pedofile, self defecator, convicted wildlife poacher, blatant bigot and racist. Other than that he a fine upstanding American!

You forgot about how Uncle Douche made open threats directed at Barack Obama while he was in the White House, and attracted the attention of the Secret Service. They merely talked to the mofo, and probably just warned him to STFU…no charges, nor jail time, zero, zip, zilch. A slap on his gutar-picking hand. He should have been sent away for a long time.
“Sleaziest Moments in Rock History” means that Rolling Stone acknowledges Ted as a “rock star’…which is bullshit. The Nuge is not a musician who happened to be a sleazebag. He’s a sleazebag who happened to have smattering of talent and a smidgen of limited musical ability. Big difference.
What a worthlessbag of skin and bones this excuse for a human being turned out to be. He will never get into the Rock Hall, because The Nuge is the Pete Rose of rock & roll. But at least Rose could hit.
On a purely objective level, I can think of perhaps 30 acts who deserve induction ahead of Ted Nugent.
