Like a faded reality star who leaks a sex tape, or like has-been baseball star signing autographs at a home and garden expo, Ted Williams is holding onto anything and everything that will keep him in the spotlight.
The Columbus Dispatch reported earlier this week that job offers have been trailing off for the homeless man with the golden voice. Shocking, we know. Williams was in rehab, then out of rehab, and now… well, he is supposedly going to auction off the famous camouflage jacket and handmade sign from his days on the side of a Columbus highway.
And before you go calling this a desperate cash grab, know that the proceeds are going to a charitable foundation. Ted Williams’ charitable foundation, to be exact. NewsNet5 reports:

We live in such a money hungry society. Oh, but should the sale of that sign at auction bring in real big money—then it would be appropriate to give the money to a homeless shelter!!!!
Why exactly does he need to do this if he is working for the Cleveland Cavaliers, or reading for Children’s audio books, or doing news casting? Did all of that fall through or is he spending as fast as he’s making the money? Was hoping he’d stay in rehab, but since he didn’t (not surprising) hope he would surround himself with “wise” people. This action does not seem to indicate that. He might be needing the jacket in the future if he isn’t careful!
Surprised the news didnt mention the teds tent thats on ebay right now, was at like 500 bucks with like 5 days left last I checked, one of his signs is on there too., Yeah ted is going to get like 50 grand for that sign no doubt.
I find it hard to digest these snipes at someone who is starting a foundation to help people get back on their feet. Some of you might consider bidding on both items considering that attitude is usually a good determining vactor in one’s success.
