1. Tonight, the Taste of the Heights once again comes to the Heights Youth Club (2065 Lee Rd., 216-321-CLUB) in Cleveland Heights. Starting at 6 p.m., this annual event brings together some of the best local eats and live music to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland. More than 20 great local establishment will be on hand serving food, including Anatolia Cafe, Sweetie Fry, Rib Cage, Katz Club Diner, Tommy’s, Lopez and Nighttown, to name just a few. 2. On Saturday, June 8, Pier W hosts its second annual Copper River Salmon Run at the Lakewood Park Outdoor Pavilion (14532 Lake Ave.) Registration is at 9 a.m. and the race kicks off at 10 a.m. “The 5K race celebrates the famed Copper River salmon season, with proceeds benefiting Cleveland charity Malachi House,” says spokesperson Amber Kallihar. A post-race party on the restaurant’s new deck overlooking Lake Erie will feature lunch prepared by Pier W’s executive chef Regan Reik. Online registration is available via Hermes Sports and Events website (hermescleveland.com/roadracing/events/pierw.asp). Pre-registration cost is $25, or $30 day of race.
