The Cleveland Indians have been outright putrid the last few years, and their performance on the field has had a corresponding impact on ticket sales. Turns out no one wants to pay, even a little, to watch a bad baseball team.

Reports put the Tribe’s season ticket base at just over 8,000, a number that is almost as embarrassing as Jhonny Peralta’s range. Almost.

With no big-name free agents on the horizon, little to sell the public on, and the lowest attendance totals in the league, the Indians have resorted to throwing everything but a free striptease from Grady Sizemore at prospective season ticket buyers in the hopes of filling those empty seats at The Jake, and even that isn’t out of the question yet.

  1. Cleveland folks didn’t come and watch the Tribe when they Won 93 games a few years back. Why spend the money if no ones gonna watch them play. Would be my thought if i’m the owner. Awsome park with no fans! Yet they flock to watch a very poor browns team since the return.
