Anybody itching to open up shop in Detroit-Shoreway? It’s your lucky day. For a mere $79,000, you can buy the former Ferris Steakhouse on Detroit Road — just search “trendy bar” on Cleveland Craigslist to see the posting. Or, you know, check it out right here:
…has dry basement and liquor permit comes with very nice bar and back bar ferris steak house was there for 72 years and has moved to westlake to a much bigger spot built from ground up same owner this is a money maker has huge parking call 440-679-0071 no emails will be answered due to spammers
Doesn’t this call to mind urgent WW1-era telegrams from abroad? This is a moneymaker STOP. Has huge parking STOP. Despite what looks like desperation from the seller (utter lack of punctuation, the fact that the posting’s on Craigslist), this could be a sweet little deal for some ragtag restaurateur(s) who sees the continued potential of the neighborhood.
This article appears in Jul 17-23, 2013.

I think it’s a great buy, although the immediate neighborhood is somewhat dicey. But a permit is worth almost half the total asking price. And many people, including us, have fond memories of wonderful times there.
I wouldn’t trust anything in this ad, they don’t even know that their new restaurant is in Rocky River, not Westlake!
For anyone looking to own a fitness club, the Omni Fitness Club in Middleburg Heights is being auctioned off in August. Heck, have the staffer who drops of Scene to the facility snap a couple photos of the sign announcing the upcoming sale.
