Jimmy Dimora, Tim Hagan, and Peter Lawson Jones convened this morning for the last-ever meeting of the Cuyahoga County commissioners.
Voters may be looking forward to a new government come January, but there’s still a wistful tear in our eye as the commissioner system, which has existed since 1810, dies.
According to the PD:
Cuyahoga County’s last three commissioners are holding what is supposed to be their last meeting, ending a string of such sessions dating to 1810, according to the Encyclopedia of Cleveland History, although the county celebrated its bicentennial in 2008.
The meeting at the county office building in downtown Cleveland began about 10 a.m. Commissioners Jimmy Dimora, Tim Hagan and Peter Lawson Jones had an 85-item agenda to work through. With supporting documents, it ran to more than 600 pages and involved, in some cases, contracts for tens of millions of dollars.
So long, fellas. Go ahead and do one minor corrupt deal, just for old time’s sake. We’ll pour out a purchased-with-bribe-money 40 oz. of malt liquor and then piss on some taxpayer money in your honor.

No tears, be done with them! 😀
They put us in this position, perhaps not all. Still the headache they cause for
all the good county workers who might have to find another job. And that large
agenda don’t be fooled that was done before FitzGerald get’s in.
hey you voted for these stooges so now you pay the financial price.
