Last night, the Cleveland Indians pulled out a 3-2 extra-inning win over the (as of right now) tied-for-first-place Royals to bring the Tribe within 3.5 games of the top of the division and 3.5 games out of the Wild Card spot. There’s really nothing to complain about with the Indians as of late, coming on strong with a month full of division games ahead of them.
Except if you’re Chris Assenheimer, Tribe beat writer for the Chronicle-Telegram, who seemed to go full troll mode on Twitter last night just before the Indians put the game in the win column. Who knows why. Maybe it was a bad hot dog. Maybe he really wanted to watch his DVR of Naked Dating and the extra-inning affair was delaying that sweet gratification.
It started with this curt statement about Josh Tomlin, who pitched some relief last night and got the W.
Step one.
Then the Tribe’s media relations account on Twitter chimed in.
+1 Bart Swain.
And then the fans started chiming in, and that’s when Chris went after them, calling them clowns, nobodies, losers and more. Enjoy.

Bizarre-o.
Assenheimer responding to trolls is “trolling”? You needed an education when you were young and sadly didn’t get one.
The Indians didn’t win the game last night. It’s been suspended and will be picked up September 22nd at the bottom of the 10th in Progressive Field.
Journalism 101 says get your facts straight.
You just flunked.
@Squid, this article was written after Saturday night’s game and before Sunday’s game. You just flunked commenting 101.
@Andy, I believe you do not know what the definition of “trolling” is. If you do, then please enlighten us as to how the following: “exhale, Tribe gets their biggest win of the yr” constitutes trolling, especially when it is not directed at Mr. Assenheimer.
Sanz – the game was postponed last night and no winner was declared. To state on the Scene website that the Indians won that game is an error no what time the article was posted.
Yeah! What he said!!!!!
Normally Indians fans respond well to people hating on their team, especially when those people are sports writers.
