One of the main purposes of the exhibit is to educate people about discriminatory practices from the 1930s, such as redlining (the process of refusing to give loans, insurance or credit in specific communities, usually because of race or ethnicity), and how they are linked to social issues that persist today.
Cleveland Neighborhood Progress has been working since 2017 to create conversations about race and economic inclusion, and to establish a comprehensive team of leaders throughout the city who are devoted to continue advancing toward racial equality. Last year, they announced plans to bring a traveling exhibition to diverse Cleveland communities.
Dates for the event run from April 15 until June 28 at the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization and Cudell Improvement, Inc. (6016 Lorain Ave.), then, from July 8 to Sept. 27, at YWCA of Greater Cleveland (4019 Prospect Ave. E) and finally, from Oct. 7 to Dec. 20 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (2230 Euclid Ave.).
Undesign the Redline was created by Designing the WE and hosted at Mt. Pleasant NOW Development Corp. (MPNDC) since last fall. A display will also remain at MPNDC through December.

Was Cleveland Neighborhood Progress “redlined” from having one of the locations on the east side of the city?
There’s also a play premiering at Cleveland Public Theatre in May that is centered around this exact issue… I even think it uses actual testimony and records.
Hey ‘Restrictions’…umm…two of the three new locations are on the east side (Campus District and Central) and it was in Mount Pleasant for like *six months*.
