According to Cleveland police, an unidentified man took physical violence to a new extreme and bit off part of another man’s ear during a robbery on Monday.
The 51-year-old victim told police that he pulled into a parking space at the Eastside Market convenience store on St. Clair Avenue and East 140th Street when he politely said “hello” to a passing stranger walking in his direction.
As payback, the man punched him in the face, bit off part of his ear and threw him to the ground. Once the victim was on the ground, the man raided his pockets and stole $290 before fleeing the scene, according to police reports.
Luckily, the man was able to get in his car and drive to Euclid Hospital where he was later treated for a swollen and bruised eye, and his Evander Holyfield looking ear.
The incident took place around noon, but taking a bite out of an ear doesn’t seem like a suitable replacement for a lunch break.
