You probably heard the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be in town this weekend getting a little award from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame people.

Turns out they’ll be sticking around an extra day to perform a free concert at House of Blues on Sunday. It’s just for Obama supporters, but you can volunteer and get your tickets by signing up here.

Here’s what we heard from the Obama camp:

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are planning to host a free concert for Obama supporters this Sunday afternoon, April 15th, at the Cleveland House of Blues to get Ohioans pumped up for the election in November. Concert doors will open at 11:45am and tickets are free as long as you sign up this week for a phone banking shift with the campaign, intended to help build the President’s organization in Ohio.

Looks like they’ll be giving it away, giving it away, giving it away … as long as you’re willing to pick up a phone for the president. —Michael Gallucci

  1. No thanks. You guys are overrated. KISS and Rush should be in way before you. Add to that the fact you’re campaigning for the worst President since Carter, a communist with ties to racist ministers and domestic terrorists. Yeah, definitely a pass.

  2. I’ll allow you to have completely uneducated an inaccurate (false) opinions about the president’s “communist” policies, but I am completely unwilling to let you allege that Kiss is even almost half as good as the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

  3. ditto on the Rush, I am not even the biggest fan but I completely respect the musician ship. And when are people going to get over the fact there there are no good candidates for president..just ones that are lesser evils…(ok not so eloquent but you get the idea)

  4. What band in their right mind would alienate a percentage of their fans by going political? Oh, wait, are they going U2? I’m ready to barf…

  5. Lets see….. Be a sheep and see the RHCP for free, or be an intelligent open minded American and miss a concert of a band I have seen before… Seeing as how I don’t think I could stand that much drooling from the sycophants, guess I’ll be doing something worthwhile Sunday, like spending time with my kids. Have fun though little sheepies, don’t forget to tell us what bits of pseudo intellectualism your Messiah imparts upon you…

  6. If anyone was a socialist, it was Bush with the socialist takeover and unthrottled money hole for the banks and stock market companies. The dictator like no bid contracts to his Fathers and VP company(Hailburton).
Socialist healthcare is not such a bad thing. It will let baby boomers retire in peace because they would not have to worry about rising health cost and prescriptions. This would free up the job market and create jobs. The MONSTER called prescription companies and private health like CCF(cleveland clinic foundation) would lose their huge profit margin but they will find another way to skin and scalp me. It just the American way. Please be at least somewhat correct in your dogmatic look at the Democratic process.

  7. I work a full time job to support myself and my family, which did not allow me anytime to work a phone bank for Obama. IT’S NOT FAIR that I can’t see this concert. I think I should have FREE tickets. IT”S NOT MY FAULT THAT I HAVE TO WORK. IT’S NOT FAIR THAT SOME GET TO GO AND I DON’T. WHERE IS MY FREE HAND OUT??
