Anthony Sowell, the Imperial Avenue man accused of brutally killing 11 women and burying them behind his Cleveland home, has been inside a courtroom since Friday. Both the state and defense attorneys are ramping up for the suspected serial killer’s long awaited trail, but in a surprise move, today the families of Sowell’s victims asked the prosecutor’s office to pump the brakes.
In a petition addressed to Bill Mason, family members of nine of the 11 victims requested the prosecutor accept a plea deal put on the table last week that would give Sowell life in prison without the chance for parole. The defendant has reportedly agreed to the offer, but Mason’s office backed out because the agreement would take the death penalty off the table.
The families’ petition asks Mason to reconsider.

I want to first offer my condolences, sympathy, and prayers to the victims families. That said, people need to understand the procecutors position on this, and similar cases. It isn’t about justice to them, it’s about spectacle. They (lawyers) are preening peacocks, who don’t give a damn about the victims, or their families. They care about exposure, so that they might advance their careers. Lawyers are the lowest form of human life, because they earn their living from the misfortune of others. They aren’t truely incapable of empathy, they are dis-ingenuous, payed liars. If a lawyer tells you something, believe the opposite. The United States “justice system is worse than a joke, it is in fact the opposite of “justice”. It’s about $$$, if you have $$$, you get “justice”. If you don’t have $$$ you get railroaded…and nothing will change until…WE THE PEOPLE TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY FROM THEM!
amen…
The so called justice system is in fact the injustice system… a form of corruption, misuse of funds, bribery… double standards… pride and prejudice not to mention greed and selfishness this side of hell.”
even though they may from time to time appear to do some good it is a very small percentage on a very altered scale compared to all the evil that is practiced by many in multiple departments from the men in blue to the boys in black (policemen to judges) and the business suits in between.
none our righteous no not one!
there is none that fears the LORD…
Mason rejected this wise and well thought out petition from the families of the victims because he and his office prefer to stay in the limelight and have a very big notch on their very tiny legal belts rather than to save those anguished people from further anguish and the taxpayers from further expense. Cuyahoga County, the victim’s families and the legal system deserve better.
