Looking for signs of auspicious beginnings not only for the Browns but 54-year-old rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden? Can’t do better than Weeden getting stuck under the giant American flag unfurled over the field yesterday during pre-game festivities. How could a 4-interception day not follow?

  1. I have a confession to make to my great friend Lucky V. who has led me forward in Brown’s mania for at least thirty years. I mean, when we were kids in the pre-super bowl days it was easy to love the Browns. All of our Dads went crazy for them and they had listened to them on the radio before the B & W TV took over. The old guys talked about the ‘Toe’ and how the new forward pass would not make it … and Jimmy Brown (later) was worshipped, and even though we knew many stories that were more like Bad, Bad Leroy Brown–ironically Leroy Kelly came after Jimmy Brown–Jimmy never got bad publicity, and when he did it was squishhed by Sunday….Oh yea. The confession to my friend Lucky–I did not care Sunday if the Browns won or lost. I was even kind of rooting against them and did not want them to win if they could not even score on offence…but it went past that this year as all who knows me knows I am at odds with 90% of the republican party…and this new owner is a big contributor to the republicans and other enemies of mine….This also puts pressure on one of my other relationships from Tennessee—Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler I think, quit talking to me when I pledged my total support for the President of the USA, Barrak Obama. He let me hang with him and his brother Larry Lawler for a day and we went to Polanski’s Meat Market and other Lorain County historical places. We were friends back when Ghoulardi ruled Cleveland and ‘The King’ was drawing Tee-shirts at O’neils Shopping Center with majic markers—he was a really good cartoonist and artist. Anyway–him like all the other republicans hate my guts now and I don’t give much of a fuck about that—except maybe my brother-in-law and father-in-law who hated my guts even when I pretended to like republicans. Well, Lucky is a democrat but he still gets pissed when I even dream of rooting against the Browns. He’s one of the great friends who never ditched me for being an ass-hole or an embarrassment. The list got real small over the last four years for many reasons other than just being a big supporter of President Obama.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawlwer had a heart attack last night and I feel bad about attacking (kind of) him in my post yesterday. The above comment of mine was at 1512pm 091012 and I had not a clue as to the health problems he would soon face. Forgive me, Jerry, and get well soon. God Bless you and yours.
