There's really no bad time to dig into the YouTube archives and devour Harvey Pekar's seven appearances on David Letterman's show over the course of a decade or so, but the recent arrival of all of those appearances edited together into one seamless hour-and-a-half long stream is as good a reason as any to do so right now.
Pekar, who passed away from an accidental overdose of prescription medications back in 2010, was widely heralded as one of Dave's best recurring guests, and for good reason.
When Letterman announced his retirement, Pekar's frequent, and frequently uncomfortable, spots were rightly heralded as examples of the host's unique and groundbreaking philosophy of late night television.
