Love previously came out as an advocate for mental health in March when he penned an essay for The Player’s Tribune, describing a panic attack he experienced during a game last fall.
“It was like my body was trying to say to me, you’re about to die,” Love, who recently signed a 4-year, $120 million extension with the Cavs, wrote in The Players’ Tribune article. “I ended up on the floor in the training room, lying on my back, trying to get enough air to breathe.”
During the Today show interview, Daly admitted that Love was a big inspiration for him to talk about his own mental health issues on air as well. The pair touched on opening up about your feelings, not being afraid what others might think.
“Everywhere I go, it’s the same with you, having the courage to be up front with this kind of thing has been unlike anything I’ve ever experienced,” Love told Daly.
