After the eternal bullshit-storm Kevin Love weathered this year, from a national press corps who all but guaranteed that he’d flee Cleveland when the season was over, and from local fans who ragged him for a lack of identity on the floor, the video below (courtesy of the Player’s Tribune) is almost a shock.
Look at how earnest he is! Look at how hungry!
Love says that his decision to sign with Cleveland “weighed heavy on him,” that it was “the biggest decision of [his] life,” and yet every time he turned over the options in his head, Cleveland was the only destination that made sense.
He is a competitor with Championship aspirations, after all. Consider this your opportunity to fall in love all over again.
