Like any other local TV news operation, NewsNet5 has its problems. But what it does spectacularly well that none of its competitors do is utilize its vast video archives, digging up choice vintage cuts from the past half century for little nostalgic slices of Cleveland history.

Today, there are a trio of clips of Cedar Point. The one capturing Cedar Point as the great amusement park was in the 60s is embedded below. Silent, yes, but golden. Clips from the 70s and 80s, which you can find over at their site, do have audio, and also more closely resemble the Cedar Point you’re familiar with today.
