Where to Catch Fourth of July Fireworks in the Cleveland Area

Independence Day is right around the corner, and there is an abundance of nearby festivals and events to help celebrate the fact you have a day off in the middle of the week. Here are all the places you can catch traditional fireworks next Wednesday evening.

Light Up The Lake
1055 Old River Rd.
For lakeside views of the fireworks, head down to the Flats with your family and friends and watch the fireworks light up the night from various viewing areas, including Jacob's Pavilion boardwalk, Music Box Supper Club, Shooters on the Water, Edgewater Beach and Voinovich Bicentennial Park. Live entertainment and family fun activities begin at 6:30 p.m. on Settler's Landing, leading up to the fireworks display.

Strongsville Fireworks Display
Foltz Park, Strongsville
Gather at the Fortz Athletic Field, located right next to Strongsville's city center, for fireworks at 10 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to snuggle up and watch the annual light show commence.

Goodtime III Fireworks Cruise
825 E 9th St.
Enjoy a night of dinner, dancing, live music and fireworks while sailing Lake Erie. Prices start at $35 and may vary depending on viewing level and dinner. Reservations are required for this event. Boarding begins at 6 p.m. and the cruise sails until 11:30 p.m.

Rock and Boom
601 Erieside Ave.
View fireworks right from the dock of the steamship William G. Mather. Food, drinks and a family friendly beer garden will be available. Make sure to bring some lawn chairs and blankets, as they are not provided by the Science Center. Entry is $16 a person, but only $13 for Science Center members.

Lakewood 4th of July Parade and Fireworks
14532 Lake Ave., Lakewood
Independence Day festivities run all day long in Lakewood. The city's parade kicks off at 10 a.m. on Lake Avenue at Kenneth Drive and ends at Lakewood Park at 11:30 a.m., where games and activities run all afternoon long. A featured concert, from the Lakewood High School Youth Rock Orchestra, hits at 7 p.m., with a firework extravaganza concluding the day at 9:45 p.m.

Light Up the Point
Cedar Point, 1 Cedar Point Dr., Sandusky
To celebrate the fourth, Cedar Point is offering discounted admission and parking from now until July 4, for only $45. Independence Day will consists of beachside fireworks and even more family friendly activities. The park is even open until midnight.

Bay Days 
350 Dover Center Rd., Bay Village
This annual carnival takes place June 30-July 4, excluding July 2 this year. The festival opens early July 4, at 8:30 a.m., allowing for an entire day of festivities, with early morning runs, carnival rides, live music, a baseball game, a magic show at noon and a parade at 11:30 a.m. A fireworks display will be held at dusk.

Akron's Rib, White and Blue Festival
200 S. Main St., Akron
This annual rib festival provides its attendees with live cover bands, inflatables, rock walls, display shows, and of course, ribs from June 29-July 4. Admission is completely free, with doors opening at 11 a.m. each day. A fireworks display commences at 9:45 p.m. on the fourth.

Berea's Grindstone Festival
Coe Lake, Berea
This three-day festival features paddleboat rides, an outdoor movie showing, live bands, carnival rides and local vendors from all over downtown Berea. There's even a parade highlighting veterans and community groups. The event concludes with a fireworks show over Coe Lake 10 p.m. on the fourth.

Fun, Food & Fireworks in Ashland
1440 Hiner Ave., Ashland
The community of Ashland is hosting its own July 4 amusement with local music playing all evening, including Mansfield based band, Alter-Ego. The fireworks exhibition goes on at 9:30 p.m.

Classic Park Stadium
35300 Vine St., Eastlake
Enjoy a family-filled night with food and entertainment in the home of the Lake Country Captains before the firework spectacle at 9:55 p.m. Doors to the stadium open at 7:30 p.m.

Cleveland Pops Orchestra Concert
Mentor Civic Amphitheater, 8600 Munson Rd., Mentor
Mentor celebrates independence day with a free performance from the Cleveland Pops Orchestra followed by a firework spectacular. The Orchestra will perform both classical and contemporary music, ranging from Strauss to Bill Joel. The performance kicks off at 8 p.m., with the fireworks to immediately follow.

Lake Erie Crushers Game
Sprenger Stadium, 2009 Baseball Blvd., Avon
For all baseball fans out there, enjoy an evening ball game on the Fourth of July. A fireworks exhibition hits the night sky immediately following the last inning.

Salute to America Concert
Blossom Music Center, 1145 W. Steels Corners Rd., Cuyahoga Falls
The Blossom Festival Band, under the conduction of Loras John Schissel, performs a patriotic concert on both July 3 and 4. Featured music includes a tribute to the Armed Forces, Sousa marches, Broadway showtunes, and, of course, the “1812” Overture. The fireworks will shoot up in the summer sky after the conclusion of the concert, and a CD giveaway is included. The concert commences at 8 p.m.
