ESPNCleveland.com is reporting a laundry list of updates to the “game day experience” at Cleveland Browns games for this season thanks to new Vice President of Fan Experience and Marketing Kevin Griffin. Among them are:
—”Fan Night”: a free inter-squad scrimmage at First Energy Stadium on August 3rd.
—A new “pregame tailgate experience” in Heritage Hall, replacing the little-known “Tailgate Terrance.”
—Upgrade player introductions with more “flames, pyrotechnics, and smoke” during player introductions, and a new hype video.”
—”Newer, upbeat” music before and during the games.
—Wiener dog races during halftime.

If recalling correctly, one proposal way back in the day was to conduct pari-mutuel wagering on Greyhounds as part of a plan for a new multi-purpose stadium — to help pay down construction costs and fund future renovations. Anyway, it was cool to have the G.E. Smith Band performing in Cleveland Browns Stadium…..a legendary “classic rock” group like Rare Earth would be slick on an outdoor perch when the weather is good, or on the big screen – in a stadium “studio” – when the rain, snow and cold slams the region.
Oh boy, weiner dog races and giant sparklers are just the convincing that I need to drive down to the stadium and blow $100 on an afternoon of watching football! And they only charge like $7.50 or something for a beer – it’s almost like they’re giving the beer away for free! Best of all – now the Browns have their own pregame tailgate experience!!!!!! Because why spend $30 to bring enough food and beer for 10 people from home when you can pay that same amount for three beers and a hotdog for one person?!?! Oh my gosh what a great deal please Browns take my moneyyyyyyyyyyyyy
If that greaseball Haslam rips off and cheats those wiener dogs out of their Alpo rebates, there will be hell to pay.
