Already weighing about 160 pounds and clearing 6-feet, the still-unnamed baby and also mother are in good health, park officials confirmed. Forty-seven other calves have been born at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo prior to this birth, including Jhasmin’s first calf, Adia.
The adorable calf isn’t on display for the public quite yet, as mother and son are bonding. In the meantime, Zoo officials announced the public would soon be able to help name the new animal with more details to come.
We’ll keep you abreast of the naming situation (is Geoffrey too obvious?) as more details emerge.
