The free public block party begins at 5 p.m. with a viewing of the classic 1983 Christmas film, followed by the live musical, which stars Maya Rudolph, Jane Krakowski and Matthew Broderick, at 7 p.m. Both will be projected onto two large inflatable screens, as viewers — presumably dressed up in bunny pajamas — watch on their own blankets and chairs. Expect food trucks and Jack Frost Donuts as well.
Parking won’t be easy to find, but Lolly the Trolley is scheduled to pick up watch party attendees at an off-site lot throughout the evening.
For those who feel the need to stay out late, The Rowley Inn across the street is hosting an after party. They’ll serve plenty of Ovaltine, as well as slightly stronger beverages.
