Dance Fever

Part of Cleveland Public Theatre’s DanceWorks 2014, Verb Ballets champions experimental dance pieces with this weekend’s performances. Creative fusion artist-in-residence Ngo Thanh Phuong presents a world premiere. Her piece focuses on “the connection of people and feelings that bring us together.” It uses an original music score involving rock and elements of traditional Vietnamese music. Contemporary choreographer Sara Whale also presents a world premiere that will “explore symbolic meanings of the dual role of women as inspiration in the struggle for modern identity.” Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30 and performances are scheduled through Saturday. Tickets range from $12 to $28. (Niesel)
