Reverend Horton Heat/Unknown Hinson/Nashville Pussy/Lucky Tubb

Always a fun and energetic show, Reverend Horton Heat continues to spread the good word of psychedelic surf-rockabilly madness. The band -- fronted by the Reverend himself, Jim Heath -- hasn’t dropped a new full-length since 2014’s REV, but no matter: That album and the rest of the band’s catalog represents a timeless sound on the fringes of rock ‘n’ roll. And with respect to that catalog, it’s a deep trip. The Reverend’s 1990s output remains some of the finest and most fun rock in a decade mostly known otherwise for crestfallen grunge and indie rock. This stuff’s in a class of its own (dig early tunes like the rough-and-tumble “Wiggle Stick” and “Psychobilly Freakout”). Bring your dancing shoes. (Sandy)
