Need another reason to visit Cleveland Heights this holiday season? How about free parking?

That’s right, every weekend from now until the end of December, folks can score free parking on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at all meters, lots, garages, and on the streets.

“Business owners and residents have been very supportive of this idea,” mayor Dennis Wilcox said on clevelandheights.com. “It reinforces the City’s commitment to our commercial districts and also has been an incentive to bringing more people to our excellent restaurants and one-of-a-kind stores throughout the city.”

Yellow signs will be posted to remind folks not to feed the meter, the lack of which have been a point of grumbling for drivers in the past.

  1. I really need discounted handgun rental to make the deal work for me. All I know is what I read in the Plain Dealer. And all I see is that Cleveland Heights is a very violent place with people being beaten, robbed and shot. Maybe if they provided armored transport and door-to-door security. I’m terrified something bad could happen to me on Coventry. Terrified! Until I hear something different from NEOMG, no amount of free parking is going to get me to spend my money in Cleveland Heights, even if it is a nuclear free zone.

  2. I can sense the sarcasm in Gary’s post, and I personally appreciate the dry humor. Unfortunately a lot of people feel unsafe in the city, and I’m sure they find his post less humorous and will just continue to avoid the city and the businesses that operate there.
