Of all days the Elvis Birthday Tribute Tour is on the road this month, it stops in Cleveland today — on what would have been the King’s 71st birthday. Take that, Memphis! The show, hosted by Elvis impersonators Shawn Klush and Ryan Pelton, takes the audience through four Presley eras: It starts in the ‘50s — with hits like “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Hound Dog” — followed by a musical survey of Presley’s movie career (represented by tunes from King Creole, Blue Hawaii, and Viva Las Vegas). It then spotlights Elvis’ 1968 comeback before culminating in a tribute to the Las Vegas/jumpsuit years. Presley’s longtime drummer DJ Fontana and backup singers the Sweet Inspirations will also perform.
