The Anniversary Show: Commemorative Art Through the Years. Closing this weekend, this 90th anniversary shows off some of the institution's most remarkable commissions throughout the years, including photographs from its impressive collection by Robert Glenn Ketchum, Andrew McAllister and Penny Rakoff. Pretty Vacant. Five artists from the rustbelt outposts of Canton, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Cleveland contribute pieces responding to the social and physical decay of their cities. David Mull + Martha Cliffel. Heights Arts recognizes the accomplishments of two artists without formal training. David Mull's ink and graphite drawings show obsessive attention to details made all the more impressive by the fact they are made on recycled paper, rocks, and other found objects. Light of Day and Bridging Cleveland. The opening exhibits for the West Side's first museum focus on photography. "Light of Day" presents pictures from the collections of Fred and Laura Bidwell by internationally renowned photographers like Hiroshi Sugimoto, Adam Fuss and Abelardo Morell. Specially commissioned for the station, Vaughn Wascovich's pinhole camera images series Bridging Cleveland memorializes the city's spanning architectural achievements with an eye towards honoring the workaday heroes who use them.
