Brooklyn's Baby Dayliner is the brainchild of Ethan Marunas, a brooding crooner whose electro-pop backdrops contradict his morose manner. On his second album, Critics Pass Away, Marunas sounds like Morrissey fronting a dance-happy Magnetic Fields (with a little Frank Sinatra and New Order tossed in for good measure). The intriguing mix has garnered him a cult following in his hometown over the past couple years. His first national tour (with Mobius Band, also from Brooklyn) brings him to the House of Blues' Cambridge Room (308 Euclid Avenue).
