Fittingly, the Double is loaded with contradictions. The Brooklyn group, which sounds very British, makes a lot of racket with guitars, feedback, and sputtering keys on its latest album, Loose in the Air. But singer David Greenhill soars above it all with a pleasant tenor that often glides into a sweeping falsetto. You don’t know whether to shove or hug the bandmates.
