Green thumbs rock the Cleveland Botanical Gardens music-themed Flower Show 2007: Rhythm & Hues. Ohio landscapers contribute 18 colorful gardens to one of the nations largest bloom bashes. Look for flower-filled displays with names like Bluegrass Retreat, Opera Hortensia, and Cotton Club. Plus, top designers pay tribute to instruments (the interactive Garden of Percussion, which features cymbals and a xylophone fence) and genres (the Rock and Roll Garden is decked out with a turntable patio). Weve got some very cool interpretations, says spokesman Peter Vertes.
Theres also plenty of arrangements, photography, and botanical jewelry on display. Its not like going to a flower shop, says Vertes. These are works of art. Experts lead workshops and demonstrations, and vendors unload everything from plants to gardening tools. Its a mecca for anyone who loves beauty, says Vertes. You can fall in love with it all.
