It's been a long time since Cleveland has seen dozens of DJs under one roof, but that changes at tonight's
Chunk! "If this goes off well, there'll be more shows," says DJ Doug Burkhart, one of 30 DJs spinning at the 12-hour dance fest. "It will give promoters faith to do shows with more headliners." The stars this weekend include Miami's "trance cowboy" George Acosta, Filo & Peri from New York, and Pittsburgh's Dieselboy. Local DJs like Dan Stark and Skinny White Boy also spin. For his one-hour set, Burkhart plays tracks by Chuck Love, Cascade, and Jask. "I like music that people can get down to," he says. "But I hate to use the word
funky.
Groovin' is a better word."
